Agate Chequerboard

Agate’s panels come in 980mm x 980mm (38.5” x 38.5”) squares, and are 20mm/¾” thick, making this floor a stable and durable option, as well as one that emits beauty. The wood used here is over 100 years old, making this floor an investment. Agate comes in a thick 4-6mm wear layer, which can be softly sanded down to keep the ‘just purchased’ look for decades and beyond. Using the original open-grained patina effectively and burnishing the wood results in a texture that is completely individual, capturing deep grain valleys and natural perfections across the antique squares. The rich black tone superbly lifts this grain pattern to the forefront, with silvery-grey hints drawing the eye and doing this antique wood so much justice.
