Babington Narrow Herringbone

In Babington Narrow Herringbone, slender 70 × 350mm blocks bring a fine, closely woven rhythm to Antique French Oak. Golden and warm brown tones move through the pattern, punctuated by darker knots and historic markings. The changing grain direction gives each piece a distinct presence within the interlocking layout.

Our expertise in reclaiming and restoring centuries-old timber has developed over decades. For Babington, that work centres on preserving the oak’s original patina and the natural and man-made details that reveal its former life. Hand-polished undulations bring subtle movement to the surface, and hand-rolled edges soften the outline of each block. Burnished Hardwax Oil Satin enriches the timber’s tones with a gentle lustre.

This narrow herringbone floor has a 20mm, two-ply engineered construction and a nominal 4–6mm wear layer. It is UKTR compliant and maintained using Care System 2.
