Burmese Teak Plank

Burmese Teak’s story reaches back to the early 1800s, when Dutch traders settled in what is now Indonesia. Their grand residences combined Western architecture with Indonesian traditions, becoming homes for Dutch, Indonesian and Chinese elites. Recovered during renovations of these historic buildings, the teak carries a connection to that cultural and architectural history.

In our English workshops, our makers carefully restore the reclaimed timber for continued use. Warm amber and reddish-brown tones reveal flowing grain, knots and darker natural markings. The smooth-sanded surface brings these details into focus, while hand-rolled edges gently define each board. Organic Oil Matt complements the teak’s rich colour with a subdued finish.

Widths of 90–130mm and random lengths create a varied plank layout. The floor has a 20mm, two-ply engineered construction with a nominal 4–6mm wear layer and should be maintained using Care System 2.
